The German company Tobra GmbH & CO have joined the fight back against plastic through the introduction of two eco friendly tech ranges; eco-line grey and eco-line green.
Around 1 million tonnes of plastic waste are generated every year in Germany alone, polluting the air, soil and water. Plastic bottles, straws, plastic bags and other packaging float in five large garbage vortices, which not only threaten the animal species in the sea, but also our lives on land.
The covers for Tobra's eco-line grey range are made entirely from a locally sourced material called Hanit® a material processed from the collection of post consumer household and production plastic waste which would otherwise pollute the environment.
The covers for Tobra's eco green range are made from FSC® sourced cork and wood.
As well as the progress Tobra is making in providing sustainable tech, they also provide employment opportunities to underrepresented groups in the region, working in cooperation with the Rhein-Mosel-Werkstatt, a facility for mentally and physically handicapped people who help in the finishing of their ecoline grey range.
